Bright Idea: Lantern Floral Arrangements
Today I'm highlighting a chic wedding trend that has been all over our favorite blogs and Pinterest boards for a few months now–floral arrangements featuring lanterns! Whether you choose affix your flowers to the top, stick a block of floral foam at the center, or just use a lantern to fill the middle of a circular arrangement, there's really no wrong way to achieve this look. Though the well-known phrase claims that "less is more," we would argue that sometimes more is more and this cluster of hanging lanterns is a testament to that! The mix of colors, textures, and varying types of greenery could easily have tipped into being over-the-top territory–especially with a cluster of three of them–but somehow it just plain works! The simple, rustic rope and clean lines of the black mental lanterns help in keeping the rest of the look streamlined.

Another way to tie a rustic element into your lantern flower arrangements is by incorporating an unfinished wood box (or a slice of wood is also popular!). This couple kept the overall color palette fairly simple with a mix of greeneries, ivory flowers, and a matching ivory candle, then brought in some pops of color with a few stems of Hot Pink Stock.

Lanterns hung on shepherds' hooks are a gorgeous way to line your aisle. This couple also included a mix of petals below the lanterns, and brought some sparkle to the equation by using silver glitter candles inside their lanterns!

This arrangement really stood out to me for its use of a ton of tiny blooms! Pale pink and off-white Spray Roses with Baby's Breath set against the ultra-versatile Seeded Eucalyptus and a few pops of Leatherleaf combine effortlessly. Plus, the gold lantern makes an ideal accent color for this look!

We're always suckers for arrangements that incorporate succulents, and this arrangement is certainly no exception! With a lantern like this, that has a much more ornate design to it, it's often a better idea to keep the color palette monochromatic to balance things out a bit.
